1. Treatment of thermally modified wood with a natural antiseptic

Thermowood is a durable material, but when exposed to sunlight it may lighten and turn grey a little. To maintain its appearance and durability, it is recommended:

• Cover the surface with a thin layer of natural antiseptic.
• Use Tikkurila pigmented water-based varnish, specially designed for wood, to protect your sauna and extend its life.
• Particular attention should be paid to hard-to-reach areas that will become closed after cleaning; they should be treated before installation.

2. Regular painting and surface protection

• Depending on the condition and climate conditions, it is recommended to paint the outside of the sauna with a natural antiseptic every year .
• The interior surface of the sauna can only be treated with special Tikkurila oil for interior work, so as not to disturb the microclimate inside the steam room.

3. Disinfection of the barrel sauna

• Depending on how often you use your barrel sauna, regular disinfection will help keep it clean and safe.
• It is recommended to use towels when visiting the sauna to reduce skin contact with the wood and extend its life.

4. Tips for use and maintenance
